Our Story
Our vision was to offer a practical, but contrarian approach to designing organizations, and we pride ourselves on building something that is both engaging and effective.
AlignOrg Solutions was founded by Kreig Smith in 1994 when he saw large companies trying to find the perfect organization design.. They all came to discover that there wasn’t one. Smith realized that if we could help them, they could come up with the answers as to what that optimal organization design could be for their business. He also knew that if AlignOrg Solutions could align leadership teams and help them clarify how the new design could be actioned, then we were offering something very unique.
Our vision was to offer a practical, but contrarian approach to designing organizations, and we pride ourselves on building something that is both engaging and effective. Starting with a single client in Hallmark Cards, our design methodology quickly gained traction and trust, helping to solve complex design issues that multi-national and global companies were facing. In 2000, AlignOrg Solutions partnered with GE to develop its
in-house organization design tool kit, and our repertoire expanded beyond consulting to include developing organization design & change management skills for business & HR leaders in companies around the world.
By 2005, AlignOrg Solutions grew from a one-person effort to a small consultancy. Today, we continue to strive to be highly engaging and effective as we assist global clients in moving forward with successful marketplace strategies. We serve a variety of industries, and support Fortune 500 companies and beyond, as we work together to clarify strategy, align organization choices, build capabilities, and manage and implement change.

With over two decades of diverse experience in management consulting and organizational effectiveness, both in-house and for professional services, Leah brings expertise in HR, organizational design, transformational change management and leadership effectiveness. She facilitates strategic conversations that inform decision-making and foster transformative outcomes.
Leah has worked extensively in Western Europe, the Bay Area, and Silicon Valley across industries such as technology, media and telecommunications, financial solutions, retail, life sciences and health care. She understands the rapid pace of change and the critical need for organizations to stay relevant. Through her work, she helps leaders effectively navigate the evolving landscape.
Leah has public speaking experience and shared her insights on inclusive organization design at The Conference Board’s 2022 Org Design, Change, and Transformation Conference. Additionally, Leah is a published author, contributing a chapter to a publication titled “The Entrepreneurial Humanities: The Crucial Role of the Humanities in Enterprise and the Economy,” which offers valuable perspectives on trends in employee experience.

Master’s degree from the Université de Paris Dauphine IX in Human Resources Management and Organizational Science. Org Design Training from USC Marshall’s Center of Organizational Effectiveness. International Coaching Federation (ICF) certification – in progress.
Jigish Patel is an accomplished leader in the fields of organization design and human capital. He started his career in K-12 education through Teach For America, spearheading large-scale teacher and leadership programs through the Arkansas Department of Education. Most recently, he advised Fortune 500 c-suite executives as an associate consultant at McKinsey & Company in their Atlanta office. His work focused on McKinsey Transformation and People and Organizational Performance (POP) practices across industries. Outside of his professional career, Jigish is deeply passionate about food sustainability, hiking, college basketball, and the arts.

For nearly 13 years, Voni has been instrumental in driving the success of AlignOrg Solutions by leveraging her diverse skill set to navigate complex business operations. Throughout her tenure, she has supported the company’s growth from a team of two to over 30, seamlessly wearing multiple hats across various functions. Voni’s expertise spans marketing, technology, billing, payroll, CRM management, HR, sales support, and reporting, with a particular focus on capturing and analyzing complex data to inform strategic decisions. Her ability to manage intricate systems and processes has made her a go-to resource within the company, helping to streamline operations and provide insights that drive business outcomes.
Voni has applied her academic foundation and practical experience to support AlignOrg’s operations across all facets of the business. Her deep understanding of the company’s systems and processes, combined with her expertise in reporting, enables Voni to drive efficiency and clarity across multiple departments, making her a critical asset to the continued success of AlignOrg Solutions. Her commitment, adaptability, and ability to think analytically have made her a steady and trusted contributor to the company’s ongoing growth and success.

Ashley specializes in learning and organizational design, global project delivery, and leadership development with over 15 years working with international enterprises.
In 2012, after two years in China instructing at Jiangnan University, Ashley moved to the UK to undertake her MA and PhD at Durham University. During this time, she became Global Director of Academics for EF and Director of Learning B2B for Busuu, serving a portfolio of F500 clients including L’Oreal and Unilever. Her specialization in determining client needs led to the bespoke creation of multi-year learning programs successfully delivered across markets and time zones. During her ten years working in European markets, she helped multiple EdTech startups and scales ups define their market position, diagnose and perform organizational redesigns, as well as create new learning products for global role outs. Ashley is a seasoned facilitator and keynote, having delivered thought leadership and trainings in over 20 countries and events with +20,000 attendees.
Upon returning to her native Florida in late 2023, she has dedicated her focus to consultation services where she will continue growing her strong track record of leading organizational change and implementing learning best-practices.

Michelle is an accomplished commercial leader with a broad background in marketing strategy and execution. She has held key roles across several Fortune 100 companies including Microsoft, Dell, T-Mobile, Intuit and FedEx. Michelle has a rich experience in leading global initiatives in product marketing, digital marketing and advertising, and sales enablement.
Michelle has successfully delivered business results by understanding the nuances of cross-functional collaboration, strong communication, customer led design, and balanced global and regional approaches. She has a deep understanding of commercial organizations and is passionate about empowering them to operate more efficiently and effectively. She is also an active mentor and community leader.

Kelly is a senior level operations and human resources leader and executive
coach. She brings 35 years of experience to her practice of advising and
coaching corporate and non-profit leaders on how to align talent, process and
technology in order to execute business strategy and optimize organizational
performance. Her focus is on streamlining operations and scaling for growth,
facilitating strategic planning and leadership development meetings, leading
merger & acquisition teams in merger, due diligence and integration strategy,
creating succession and talent development plans, and building core operations
for start-up non-profits.
Kelly has a BA in Economics and a BA in Psychology from Lafayette College.
She holds the SPHR certification and is an ICF certified executive coach.
With over 8 years of experience with large consultancy firms, Paige focuses on solving complex challenges for both domestic and global Fortune 500 organizations of various sizes, industries, and strategic aims. She has strong experience in the cybersecurity and privacy domains, having managed and grown sizable teams. Her data-driven client experience and ability to understand and communicate complex concepts allow Paige to manage challenging stakeholder needs for optimal outcomes.
Paige is an avid writer and reader and has published several written works on policy/technical research and cultural/art commentary.

As a consultant and writer, Alyson has guided major organization alignment initiatives at enterprises ranging from startups to Fortune 50 companies. She has worked in both the profit and non-profit sectors for such enterprises as Lowe’s, Tyco, Mercy Health System, Abbott Laboratories, the Association of Public Health Laboratories, Colgate-Palmolive, Payless ShoeSource, BP, Hallmark, the Veterans’ Administration, MidAmerican Energy, People to People, and the Cherokee Nation.
Alyson is the co-author of Mastering the Cube: Overcoming Stumbling Blocks and Building an Organization that Works and Running into the Wind – 5 Strategies for Building a Successful Team.

For over 20 years, Adam has been yielding tangible business outcomes through his ability to consume, navigate and execute through organizational complexities. He has progressive leadership experience in global matrixed environments, achieving “win/win” situations where they are not always evident. Adam’s expertise in operational excellence, project management, technology, and change management allow him to create practical roadmaps and enable purposeful decisions. As a result, Adam’s experience includes driving transformation initiatives within Sales, Marketing, and IT functions.
Adam has the unique ability to navigate the people, process and technology dimensions of Organizational Design. He creates Operating Models that are efficient, aligned, and drive role clarity to key stakeholders. Adam’s business acumen, curiosity, and ability to change the status quo fuels his talent in helping executive teams.

Keily is an experienced human resources leader with a broad HR background. She has served as a Talent Management COE leader, overseeing performance and talent management, as well as organizational effectiveness. In her role as a strategic HR business partner, she led large-scale organizational changes by supporting and coaching leaders to achieve their business goals.
Pairing HR COE and HRBP experiences has allowed Keily to build end-to-end solutions and successfully drive the transformation to optimize the workforce while coaching leaders and leveraging cross-functional teams to ensure success.
Keily is certified in PROSCI, Korn/Ferry, and Human Capital Strategist (HCI).
Education: M.Ed. in Community Counseling and B. A. in Psychology, Southeastern Louisiana University.
With more than 20 years of progressive experience in HR and change consulting, Rebecca optimizes client outcomes through effective implementation of strategic initiatives. She is an expert at understanding and uncovering the systemic nature of complex problems and finding practical, sustainable solutions.
Having spent her career in the energy, financial, manufacturing, healthcare, and education fields, Rebecca understands the complexity and pace of change faced by highly regulated environments. She is an expert in leading organizational change management, organization design, instructor-led and online learning, leadership development, and performance management. Rebecca led change internally at several Fortune 500 organizations before moving to external consulting.
Rebecca has presented her findings on the cognitive impact of change management to international audiences at the Irish Academy of Management, International Society of Performance Improvement and the Academy of Management. She is a Certified Change Management Professional (CCMPTM).
Education: Ph.D. in Organization Development – Benedictine University, M.S.Ed. Instructional Systems Technology – Indiana University, and a B.S. in Mathematics Education – University of Evansville.
A 10-year veteran at AlignOrg Solutions, Ken possesses a proven ability to drive effective organizational design, develop strategy, while being able to deliver the critical initiatives that enable organizational change. His past experience includes senior HR/Organizational Development roles in New Zealand and the United Kingdom, within Telecommunication, Financial and IT organizations.
Ken combines sound theoretical knowledge, start-up and acquisition experience, and commercial acumen to help organizations integrate processes, systems, and whole organizations for the greatest strategic impact.

Jaycie Allen is an Executive Assistant and Event Coordinator with 15 years of experience. Known for her exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, she excels at managing schedules, coordinating events, and supporting teams. Personable and proactive, Jaycie provides seamless internal and external support while fostering strong relationships. Jaycie is a mom to four growing children who keep her busy with various sporting events and endless carpools.

Larissa Salvato is an accomplished marketing professional with over 20 years of experience delivering strategic insights and impactful results.
Her expertise includes assisting clients across industries with web marketing strategies, social media campaigns, and business development,

Since 2021, she has served as Marketing Director at AlignOrg Solutions, where she drives marketing strategies that support organizational growth. With a track record of success in both corporate and entrepreneurial capacities, Larissa excels in developing and managing end-to-end marketing strategies, business analysis, and cross-functional leadership. Larissa’s diverse background reflects her passion for creating value and fostering strong partnerships, and her ability to adapt to complex challenges makes her an invaluable resource for AlignOrg Solutions and its clients.
In her spare time, Larissa advocates for individuals with disabilities, serving on both the Parent Advisory Committee and the Women’s Foundation at Turning Pointe Autism Foundation.

Armin McCrea-Dastur has 30 years of proven experience delivering strategic leadership and business consulting solutions that have helped move people and organizations toward their desired performance results in the business and sports industries. Her portfolio of experience spans a broad range of global and U.S. businesses, including sectors of consumer product goods, retail, medical devices, corrections, healthcare, and sports. Armin’s consulting, facilitation, and coaching services have influenced corporate structure, from C-level executives to frontline staff. Her expertise ranges across business transformation, strategic human resource management, and performance psychology with companies such as Kraft Foods, Mondelez International, Danone, EssilorLuxottica, CoreCivic, and The University of North Carolina’s Men’s Basketball program. Armin has proven success in complex ventures, in roles in change management with the $34 billion spin-off of Mondelez International from Kraft Foods, and in supporting the recruitment and leadership development of the Tar Heel 2005 National Championship team. Dallin Whitfield is a leader in the field of organization design with a proven consulting background. He has collaboratively worked with executives and global leaders to implement new strategies and navigate change through organization design and operating model modernizations. Dallin has worked across many industries, including several Fortune 500 and high growth organizations, to transform organizations at all levels – including enterprise, business unit, function and teams.
Dallin has a passion for influencing true behavior change through whole-system design, ensuring organizations align with their purpose. With an educational background in business law and previous interest in M&A work, he has repositioned his experience and interests to think through holistic change from a strategy, process, structure, and people lens. Dallin is a Certified Organization Design Professional (CODP), as well as a board member of the Organization Design Forum (ODF). Rebekah is a strategic partner and trusted advisor to executives, bringing nearly 25 years of diverse, global experience in organization development, leader development, and talent management. Rebekah leads successful transformations by optimizing organization and leadership effectiveness and enabling leaders and teams to deliver outstanding business results.
Prior to her consulting career, Rebekah gained extensive global Human Resources leadership experience during more than two decades with General Mills, where she led organization, talent, and team initiatives in partnership with business units, corporate functions, manufacturing plants, and global shared services. In her most recent corporate role, she led the enterprise organization effectiveness practice, building capabilities in organization design, change management, and team effectiveness.

As an industry-leading expert in organization design, operational efficiency and accountability-driven leadership, Ken Thompson works with executive teams to help them win in a highly competitive marketplace. He guides Fortune 500 leaders through the process of creating a design framework – including strategy, organization redesign and alignment, realization and implementation, and change management – that delivers results.
Ken draws from over 25 years of high-level military and corporate experience to lead successful strategic organization transformation initiatives. He has held board and C-level positions at the U.S. Department of Defense and at logistics, supply chain, apparel design and manufacturing organizations.
Ken is Six Sigma certified, holds an MBA with an emphasis in organization design and is a Certified Organization Design Professional (CODP). He is a regular presenter at universities and national industry conferences and is a member of the Fast Company Executive Board.

Bret is a business management consultant with experience in providing organizational expertise, leadership, and organizational design in a variety of industries including aviation, automotive, high-tech, banking, retail, restaurant, manufacturing, and construction. He is a former operations executive of a fortune 250 company and a sales professional at IBM. By combining his operational experience with his consulting experience, Bret brings a practical approach to complex organization design and change challenges.
Bret has taught business courses at George Washington University and is currently on the Faculty at Utah State University where he is the Executive Director of the Stephen R. Covey Leadership Center.

With a deep background in strategic technology leadership and software product development, Dennis applies collaborative facilitation practices to guide leadership teams in developing shared focus and creating alignment to achieve strategic goals. As a senior organization leader, he has led large-scale organization transformations and guided pragmatic changes across company practices.
Throughout his 25+ year career, Dennis has immersed himself in transformation efforts, leadership development, team evolution, change leadership, culture creation, and product delivery to create market leading results.

John’s 20+ years of experience includes serving as a senior executive driving business efficiencies, digital transformations, and organizational change across global enterprises. He excels at achieving business results with strengths rooted in designing, developing and leading large multidiscipline teams through strategy development, implementation, and change.
With experience in large multinational manufacturing and high-tech companies, John has a deep understanding of how strategy alignment, organizational structure, role accountability, and culture can influence results. His experience living abroad as an expat and global CIO for over a decade enables him to partner with executive teams worldwide to achieve their goals.
John has a fierce passion for developing others and helping to cultivate their success. He continues to be a dedicated coach and mentor to many executives across industries, organizations, and backgrounds. Marci plays a vital role in supporting AlignOrg Solutions’ operations by managing back-office functions such as shipping, general council, brand swag, and travel logistics. Known for her empathetic and service-oriented nature, she is deeply committed to fostering strong relationships within the team and with clients. Her strengths as a people person, coupled with her organizational skills, bring a sense of collaboration and efficiency to the company.
Beyond her contributions to AlignOrg Solutions, Marci is also an active board member for the Guatemala Children’s Project. Her involvement reflects her dedication to making a positive impact in the community, both locally and internationally.
When she’s not working, Marci enjoys being an avid reader and finding ways to connect with others, continually bringing energy and compassion to every endeavor she pursues.

Wesley Dorsett is an experienced organization development and design leader known for his ability to bridge strategy and operating models. He is passionate about driving organizational performance and excels in guiding senior leadership teams through complex problem-solving to ensure strategic plans are effectively executed.
Wesley’s career includes key roles at CEVA Logistics, Linkage (a SHRM Company) and Raypak (a Rheem Company), where he spearheaded significant organizational and people-focused initiatives. He also consulted and trained Fortune 500 companies on leadership, organizational development and change management. Most recently, Wesley spent 2.5 years as an independent consultant in the UK, partnering with the NHS, a UK-based organization design firm and U.S. companies in the construction, retail, and higher education sectors. His expertise encompasses organizational learning and design, talent management and leadership development, with a strong proficiency in data visualization to drive informed decision-making.
Wesley is an avid sports fan, a coffee aficionado, and loves recreational time in the outdoors, especially hiking and camping in the mountains.
