Rebecca Ellis, PhD, Demonstrates Excellence in Organizational Development

Dr. Ellis is a distinguished professional in the field of organizational development and change management, currently serving as a principal at AlignOrg Solutions. With a career spanning several years, she has established herself as an expert in managing organizational transformations, optimizing human capital investments and fostering employee engagement. She began her journey with AlignOrg Solutions in 2021 as an engagement executive, followed by her role as a client executive and the head of marketing from 2023 to 2024. In her current position since 2024, she contributes to the leadership of the firm, oversees commercial and sales operations, and maintains a connection to human resources functions.

Prior to her tenure at AlignOrg Solutions, Dr. Ellis was the managing director at the Performance Lab from 2019 until 2021. She also held significant roles at Allegion PLC, including director of change management and organization design consulting in 2019 and director of global learning, development and change between 2016 and 2019. Her previous endeavors include serving as an adjunct professor of business at Webster University from 2013 to 2017 and as the principal consultant and co-founder of Key Partners Consulting LLC from 2015 until 2016.

Dr. Ellis’s earlier career includes positions that laid the foundation for her expertise in organizational development. She served as the manager of change consulting at Ameren Services between 2013 and 2015 and as a senior organization consultant at Edward Jones from 2011 to 2013. Her experience also includes managerial roles in training and development at Fabick Cat and as a senior learning technology designer at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. She commenced her career as a systems trainer and eventually became director of leadership development at RehabCare from 2001 until 2007.

Significantly contributing to Dr. Ellis’s professional achievements was her academic background, beginning with a Bachelor of Science in mathematics education from the University of Evansville in 1997. She then earned a Master of Science in education in instructional systems technology from Indiana University Bloomington in 2002, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy in organization development from Benedictine University in 2013. She holds several certifications, including as a Prosci Certified Change Practitioner and as a Certified Change Management Professional.

Outside her primary duties, Dr. Ellis has been involved in industry-related organizations such as the Irish Academy of Management, the International Society of Performance Improvement and the Academy of Management. Her civic contributions include serving on the Parent Safety Council for Carmel Clay Schools since 2018 and holding numerous leadership roles with the University of Evansville Alumni Association and the St. Louis Organization Development Network, among many others.

Reflecting on her accomplishments, Dr. Ellis attributes her success to her strong work ethic and unwavering determination, emphasizing the importance of being proactive in building connections with others. Throughout her professional journey, she is especially proud of her work in mergers and acquisitions. By focusing on the cultural aspects of integration, she has been effective at blending the strengths of both companies, ultimately leading to positive organizational outcomes.
